She has written some 130 line dances so far .
The story goes that Dusty & Gloria were riding around when a local radio station was playing the new Hog Wild album by Hank Williams, Jr. One of those songs was "Daytona Nights". With a little help from Hank, his wife Mary Jane and his manager the late Merle Kilgore, Dusty tricked her into writing her first line dance. Since then, she has written some 130 line dances, some of them at the request of the record label or the artist. She is also one of the few choreographers to ever be paid by a major record label to write a dance and produce the instructional video (MCG/Curb Records for the single "Thump Factor" by the Smokin' Armadillos in 1996).
With a background in education, she is very comfortable teaching.
Gloria spent 30 years in the educational system in Volusia County, FL retiring as a middle school Assistant Principal in 1996. With that background, it was only natural that once she learned the "how to" of line dancing, she began teaching it. Over 20 years later, she is still teaching line dancing, currently at the the American Legion Post 17 in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
In her spare time...
Spare time? What spare time! This is a lady who is always "on go". Up early to get Dusty ready for work, she went back to the school system as a substitute teacher! Besides her family duties, she served for several years as Secretary for Rolling Thunder FL Chapter 8 in Daytona Beach and Activities Officer for the Harley Owner's Group in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Now she is preparing to open CrackerBilly's at The Crossroads, a country dance club in Deland, FL
